Legislative Alert | Transposition of EU Directive 2023/970: Overview of the Pay Transparency Law  

On 6 July 2026, Greek law 5316/2026 was published in the Government Gazette, which transposes  into Greek law Directive (EU) 2023/970 on pay transparency and equal pay. The new legislative framework establishes a set of obligations aimed at strengthening the principle of equal pay for equal work or work of equal value and enhancing transparency in remuneration practices across both the private and public sectors. The rules apply to all employers, regardless of sector, with certain obligations depending on employer size. Law 5163/2024: New Minimum Wage Law implementing Directive 2022/2041 on adequate minimum wages in the EU
